Business leaders in the west shared stories about how their companies have adapted to the difficult economic climate at an IBEC conference on Wednesday May 25 at the Carlton Hotel, Galway. Over 30 local business people attended the 'Boosting productivity under pressure' event, which was sponsored by ESB Electric Ireland.
Speaking at the conference, John Brennan, IBEC regional director said: “Businesses in the west have been badly hit in the economic downturn, but many have been able to increase their productivity and turn their fortunes around. This seminar has given people a chance to share their knowledge and get new ideas about how to create the type of dynamic workplace that will cement a company's success.”
According to conference speaker Cormac MacDonncha, plant manager, Ingersoll-Rand International Limited: “This event achieved its objectives of highlighting possible benefits to business in the current challenging climate. We welcome the chance to share our experiences and the new approaches we took to improve productivity, reduce costs and enhance the overall business, despite the tough environment.”
Highly interactive breakout sessions after the presentation gave attendees a chance to talk to the speaker and IBEC experts about how to reduce costs, enhance productivity and manage people.
