Kayak around Ireland for Hospice

During the last week of May a GMIT student and his kayaking buddy will be departing Howth to paddle around Ireland by sea kayak (1,600km ). The expedition is being carried out in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation, a charity working to improve end of life care in Irish hospitals. During the trip they will be carrying all their camping, cooking, and safety equipment, and a week’s worth of food at a time in their kayaks. They hope to be finished the trip in five to six weeks while paddling for six to 10 hours a day.
