The Supplementary Development Contribution Scheme will come into effect. This means that new developments in the Westport area will face a levy per unit for water services. The draft scheme went on public display and the town councillors were informed that no submissions were made.
Councillor Myles Staunton said this could be a “step too far” as it could prove difficult for a young couple who are building a house.
