Forty two schools from across Mayo will be awarded the coveted Green Flag at an awards ceremony in the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris, on Monday next May 23.
Four schools will be awarded Green Flags for the first time for their efforts in tackling litter and waste, and a further 38 schools will successfully renew their flags for the themes of energy conservation, water conservation, sustainable travel and biodiversity. This is the first year that the award ceremony has taken place in Mayo and it is expected to be a momentous occasion.
