Chi-gong — for a healthier you

Chi-gong are traditional, simple health and fitness exercises, with easy movements, which create impressive improvements to your health.

The Chinese Health Chi-Gong Association has compiled the Eight Brocade. These are eight traditional movements which have been demonstrated to improve the respiratory system, straighten limbs, increase flexibility of the joints, fortify the nerves, and enhance the general balance of the body. It will also improve cardiovascular functions and help cure illnesses, such as coronary artery sclerosis and osteoporosis. It will also help to delay the ageing process.

The exercises are suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

A workshop on the chi-gong exercises will be held in Ballina Sport and Leisure Centre, Cathedral Road, Ballina, on Saturday May 21 from 1pm to 4pm, at a cost of €30.

The workshop will be given by Arend Wymenga, 4th dan grade tai-chi and chi-gong instructor. For more information contact Arend on 094 936 7536 or 087 167 9031.
