Man shouted abuse at residents on his way home from party

A man on a way home from a party, who shouted abuse at residents in a Ballina housing estate, was before Ballina District Court this week.

Gardaí were called to Riverside Drive, Ballina, on April 28 2011 at 4.45am, after residents complained that a drunk man was shouting abuse at people outside their houses.

Patrick Ferguson, 114 Greenhills Estate, Ballina, also became abusive to gardaí when they arrived.

The 24-year-old father of two, who has no previous public order convictions, was directed by Judge Mary Devins to contribute €200 to the Down Syndrome Association for the section six public order charge. The section four, intoxication charge, was taken into consideration.
