Exciting new Irish summer college ready for enrolments

Coláiste Néifinn is a newly founded Irish summer college in west Mayo for 12 to 15-year-olds. This college aims to bring life to our native language outside the Gaeltacht. The co-ordinators are two Irish teachers from west Mayo who have both been teaching Irish for nearly 10 years. They also have taught in several Gaeltacht colleges, so they can bring a lot of experience to Coláiste Néifinn in Castlebar.

From 2012 onwards students will receive 40 per cent for their oral Irish examination. This is an exciting prospect for all Irish enthusiasts. According to the organisers the best way to learn a language is to be actively involved in it in a fun way. Classes, sports, music, dancing, a tour and other activities will feature in the coláiste.

The days will be action packed from 10am to 5pm.

The college is extremely affordable. An enrolment night will take place in the Harlequin Hotel on May 17 from 7pm to 8pm. This will give parents time to gain further information about Coláiste Néifinn. If you enrol on or before this date, the course fee will be €200 for the full two weeks, but after this it will be €230. This coláiste promises to give a very positive outlook in speaking Gaeilge.
