Comedy night in Ballinrobe
Local entertainment promoters GoGoGo in conjunction with Tacu, are organising a Stand-Up Comedy night in The Valkenburg, Ballinrobe on Friday April 29 at 8.30pm (over 18s only ) with all proceeds going towards the new Lake District Youth Facility.
The night will feature 2FM's Hector Ó hEochagáin, support from the new up and coming Chris Kent and MC for the evening will be Mayo born Gerry Mallon. Admission is €15.
Charity cycle around Lough Corrib
The annual Tour de Lough Corrib charity cycle, in aid of local heart charity Croí, will take place on Sunday May 22.
The cycle will leave Galway at 8.30am, taking a route via Moycullen, Oughterard, Maam Cross, Maam Valley, Cornamona, Cong, Headford and finishing back in the city.

Volunteer for Hospice
Mayo Roscommon Hospice is looking for volunteers to participate in the West of Ireland mini-marathon on Sunday May 1, The Flora Women’s mini-marathon on Monday June 6, and the Kilmovee Race on Saturday April 23.

Light a Candle of Hope for Chernobyl
The Chernobyl Children International Castlebar Outreach Group are calling on all supporters to attend a Light a Candle of Hope event on April 25 from 7pm to 9pm at Market Square, Castlebar.
The event will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and it is a unique opportunity to remind the world of the tragic legacy the catastrophe has left behind.

Tree planting in Castlebar
Are you interested in joining a dynamic group of volunteers to plant trees in Castlebar? If so, why not come along to the Community Garden (An Sruthán/Cois Abhainn estates on the Old Turlough Road ) on Easter Saturday to plant a variety of trees including apple, plum, damson, cherry and nut varieties suitable for the west of Ireland.
This event which will take place at noon, is organised by Mayo Sustainability Forum.

1916 commemoration
Mayo Sinn Fein will hold their annual 1916 commemoration this Sunday in Achill following 10am Mass in Dookinella Church.
The parade will assemble at Dookinella Church and proceed from there to The Father Manus Sweeney monument.
Easter rising commemoration
The 95th commemoration of the Easter Rising will take place in East Mayo on Monday April 25. The event is organised by Mayo Republican Sinn Féin. The parade will commence at noon in the village of Kilkelly and march to the East Mayo Brigade monument on the Galway/Sligo road.
There will be a guest speaker and wreath-laying at the East Mayo Brigade monument.
All are invited.
Easter foam party
Claremorris No Name Club are having a massive Easter foam party on Thursday April 28 in Club Blue, Claremorris.
Doors open at 9.30pm and will finish at 12.30am.
This is a No Name Club event for Transition Year and above and will be supervised.
Dawn Mass in Cong
The Chalet, Cong will once again be the breathtaking backdrop for this year’s Easter Sunday (April 24 ) Dawn Mass, which is organised by the Tuam Diocesan Youth Council and hosted by the Parish of Cong.
The Dawn Mass will commence at 6.30am. Visitors are asked to follow the signs from Cong and to use the one-way traffic system which provides an easy exit via the grounds of Ashford Castle.

Gallery at the Quay
The Wright Gallery at the Quay, Westport has reopened with a new exhibition.
Artists Breda Burns, Margaret Duffy, Betty Gannon, Pamela Gray, Claire Griffin, Mary O’Grady, Grainne O’Reilly, Susie Quinn and Sinead Wall have put together a wide variety of work in painting, print, and drawing, framed and unframed.
The gallery is open Thursdays to Sundays, from 1pm to 5pm. All are welcome.
Ballycroy National Park Visitor Centre
There are a number of free Easter activities at the centre, which is open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
On Sunday April 24 there will be a Easter Bunny Hunt (drop in anytime between noon and 4pm ).
On April 26, children’s activities will be Bug Dials and Pond Dipping 2pm (approximately one to two hours )
On April 28, children’s activities will be moths and butterflies at 2pm (approximately one to two hours )
On April 30 and May 1 there will be a guided walk of the 2km trail at noon and 4pm. The walk will take approximately one hour.
Adults must stay with child/children for the duration of the activities.
