It is hoped that the contract for the town hall project will go to tender next month and will be constructed in the next year, according to Westport town architect Simon Wall.
Director of Services, Joe Beirne said at the area meeting this week, that it is envisaged that a company would be set up who would manage the construction phase and then take over the running of the theatre and community facility, which would be led by the town hall committee and would also have nominees from the town council and area committee.
