A 38-year-old Hollymount man was this week convicted of careless driving.
It was outlined at Castlebar District Court that on July 10 2010 at 4.47am, David Connolly, Davros, Hollymount was observed by gardaí to drive in a careless fashion in the Hollymount area.
Connolly’s vehicle weaved erratically on the road and hit the grass verges on both sides of the road
When the patrol car activated its lights and sirens the defendant failed to stop and instead increased the speed of the car.
Connolly, who was no previous convictions, was convicted and fined €300 by Judge Mary Devins.
