Mayo writer in penultimate round of RTÉ Story Land competition

Story Land, the online RTÉ competition featuring six-minute episodes of new Irish television, announced that the drama Lucky Run has advanced to the second last round. The programme is written and directed by Achill native Colm Cafferkey and tells the story of Robbie Dolan trying to piece his life back together after a severe night on the tiles. Also featured are Westport natives Donal Maher and Owen O’Malley. The drama series is produced by Capaillín Bán, which was founded by Shrule man Eamon De Staic.

In its three months in the competition, Lucky Run has gained more Facebook likes than any other show and is gaining notoriety as a fast paced, beautifully shot, production with snappy writing and a strong cast.

The next episode will be online from Wednesday April 27 and is dependent on public votes to get through to the final round. For more information find Lucky Run on Facebook or watch all episodes on www.rte.ie/storyland
