Easter Customs Tour
Today, Friday April 1, at 3pm the museum will host a gallery tour where you will be able to find out what life was like 100 years ago and the seasonal customs that occurred. The cost of the tour is €2 for adults and children under 16 are free. Places on the tour are on a first come first served basis.
Basket Case
On Friday week the museum will host a junior activity where children six years and under can learn about the different types of baskets that are on display in the museum. Children will also get to make a basket out of clay. The event will take place from 3.30pm to 4.30pm with Tommy Casbey.
Practical planting
On Sunday April 10 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm you can learn how to get the most out of your vegetables and plants. Learn how to plant different varieties of potato. Booking is required.
Get knitting
On Saturday April 30 a knitting world record attempt will take place in the museum. To get yourself in the mood for it why not drop in to the museum’s knitting circle where everyone can come along and have a go. The next knitting circle event will take place on Friday April 15 from 11am to 1pm.
Music session
Clear away the ‘Foggy Dew’ and play that forgotten tune. Take the opportunity to come together with other learners to share and practise tunes and songs. On Saturday April 16 from 3pm to 5pm, this drop in activity is open to all adults and accompanied children from 14 years and upwards.
