Man told to stay out of Mayo

A man who resides in Dublin gave an undertaking at Ballina District Court this week to stay out of Mayo until his case is due for sentencing in November.

Alan Delve, 13 Woodvale Avenue, Blakestown, Dublin 15 had attempted to steal a poor box from Supermac’s, Ballina on February 24 2011. When staff challenged him about this he threw the charity box to the ground and left the premises.

On February 27 at 12.15am, Delve caused damage to the bottom panel of Supermac’s door. The cost of this damage was €150.

The defendant (29 ), originally from Manchester, has 13 previous convictions throughout the country. Delve told the court that he was in Ballina as he was visiting his girlfriend at the time.

Judge Devins asked the defendant to give an undertaking not to come back to Mayo until she sentences him on November 8.
