A 58-year-old woman, who when drunk hit a car while driving, was convicted of drink driving at this week’s sitting of Ballina District Court.
At 5.30pm on October 19 2010, Mary McDermott, Quignaleka, Ballina hit a car in front while she was driving. The defendant left the scene and was then arrested for drink driving. A blood sample provided showed a concentration of 282mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood.
Judge Mary Devins convicted and fined McDermott €500 and disqualified her from driving for three years.
