A man who went for drinks after Mass and then drove his car, was convicted of drink driving at Ballina District Court this week.
Eamon Calpin, Garden Street, Ballina failed a roadside breath test at a garda checkpoint on September 5 2010. A breath sample provided at Ballina Garda Station showed 100mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
The 42-year-old was convicted and fined €500 by Judge Mary Devins and disqualified from driving for three years. The defendant, who did not have insurance on his car, was also convicted and fined €300 and disqualified from driving for one year to run concurrently.
