McWilliam Park Hotel spices it up

Tandoori Thursday at the McWilliam Park Hotel

McWilliam Park Hotel offers a €25 menu to include a three course meal and glass of house wine on Thursday evening. Menu items include: jumbo prawn butterfly (golden fried prawns marinated with fresh ginger and garlic served with lettuce leaves and chilli sauce ); lamb biryani basmati rice combined with meat flavoured saffron and mild oriental spices.

There are also other Asian specialities designed, cooked and presented by Mohammed Ali Kumar of the Kumar dynasty of south Bombay — a family renowned for their fine reputation of oriental cuisine based on natural foods complemented by organic selected herbs and spices.

Mohammed Ali studied for three years before joining the family business, where he further developed his skills and created some of the new ideas based on old traditions. Before his departure from the family business, Mohammed Ali ran two restaurants and led a team of 14 chefs. He was nominated for many accolades.

In 2010 Ali moved to Ireland and joined the team at the four star McWilliam Park Hotel where he introduced himself to western cuisine, culture and tradition and now has a grasp of Irish food and produce.

Both Mohammed and general manager Fergal Ryan think that its time to introduce the spice of Asia to the heart of the west, so come along to Indian Night on Thursdays in the McWilliam Park Hotel. Call 094 937 8000 for details and reservations.
