The High Court has approved a settlement of €3 million to a 27-year-old Mayo woman who has cerebral palsy due to injuries sustained at birth at Mayo General Hospital.
Lisa Carroll sued the Western Health Board through her mother, Noreen Carroll of Balintean, Killala.
Lisa is totally dependent on her family for her care, is in a wheelchair and suffers seizures.
The settlement against the Western Health Board was made without admission of liability.
