Councillor Martin welcomes CIS office for Westport

Councillor Keith Martin, Labour's County Council candidate for Westport, has warmly welcomed the planned Citizens’ Information Service (CIS ) Office for Westport, which is due to open in December.

According to the Labour councillor: “The new office will allow the CIS to provide information, advice and advocacy services in Westport on a part-time basis, from a permanent office on James Street.”

The cllr added that: “This is good news for Westport as the CIS provides free, impartial and confidential information on an one-to-one basis on subjects such as employment rights, consumer affairs, social welfare, health, disability information, taxation, family issues and housing” and concluded by saying that “I am sure there will be a huge demand for its services.”
