Duke Special to pop up

Having been awarded the 2008 Meteor Music Award for Best Irish Male, Duke Special continues to go from strength to strength. Duke Special is a piano-based songwriter with a romantic style and a warm, distinctly-accented voice, he has a distinctive look, with his long dreadlocks, eyeliner and outfits he describes as "hobo chic".

The diminutive Northern Irishman’s music has always been wonderful and in a class of its own but, over the course of the last few years, Duke’s alter ego Peter Wilson has grown in confidence onstage and, as he does, his performances become ever more unforgettable. Highlights include “Portrait”, the deliciously catchy “Last night I Nearly Died (But Woke Up Just in Time )” and the stunning “Freewheel”. Having previously performed at both Glastonbury and the Electric Picnic festivals, Duke Special is bringing his show to the Royal Castlebar Theatre and Event Centre on Sunday, November 30. Tickets are available on www.ticketmaster.ie as well as from the Royal Theatre Box Office on 0818 300000.
