Aware support groups aim to provide a safe space for people who live with depression to share experiences and access peer support. All Aware support groups are facilitated by trained volunteer group facilitators.
Ballinrobe group meets every Thursday in Tacú Family Resource Centre, Glebe Street, Ballinrobe at 8pm, Castlebar group meets every Tuesday in St Michael's Day Centre, Westport Road, Castlebar, at 8.30pm. Castlebar also run a relatives’ support group on the first Tuesday of every month in the same venue at 8.30pm.
Aware is also currently recruiting volunteers in the Mayo area to develop more support groups (initially in the Westport area ).
