A man who tried to start a fight outside a pub in Swinford, and who was aggressive towards gardaí, was convicted and fined a total of €500 at Ballina District Court on Tuesday.
On February 20 2011 at 12.46am, Sean Henrick, Ballyglass, Swinford was observed by gardaí to attempt to start a fight outside Moore’s Pub, Main Street, Swinford.
Henrick was aggressive to gardaí and used foul language towards them. The defendant was directed to leave the area on a number of occasions, however he failed to do so.
The unemployed man, who has no previous convictions, was convicted and fined €300 by Judge Mary Devins for failing to comply with the direction of a garda, and he was convicted and fined €200 for being threatening and abusive.
