Westport Town Council is to spend €30,000 in 2011 in the promotion of festivals in the town, as passed in the recent town council’s budget.
At the council’s monthly meeting town clerk Anne Moore outlined that in the coming weeks all organisations will be contacted and a list of dates and funding for festivals will be established. It is hoped that the money available will target innovation in festivals and will extend the existing tourist season.
