People from Mayo have weird and wonderful vices valued at €15,637, Trocaire revealed this week. The charity released the figures, which reflect sponsorship raised for ‘Give It Up For Trocaire’ last year, as it launched its 2011 campaign. Trocaire is challenging people to give up something they love, their greatest temptations, or their worst habits, on March 4 to raise money to change people's lives in the developing world. And from the amount raised by Mayo folk last year, there are certainly plenty of vices to be given up in the county.
This year Trocaire is asking people to give something up for a day as part of its annual Fast campaign which raises €1 million each year to support the organisation’s work with the world's poorest people.
