More than 25 adults and young people strode out on the most recent Straide Monthly Walk, which took place on Sunday January 30 last. This stunning walk took in the River Moy, as well as bog, lake and forest routes in the beautiful Straide area. Following the walk, refreshments were provided by The Davitt Inn in Straide.
Walk organiser, Thérèse Ruane, said: “The walks are going from strength to strength. It’s great to see so many people from the local community coming out and participating. Thanks to The Davitt Inn for the warm welcome and the very welcome cup of tea afterwards.
“The Walks Committee is working diligently to develop marked trails in the area so that more and more people can experience the beautiful walks, heritage and scenery in the Straide area for themselves. We hope to have these completed in the Spring.”
The walks are open to everyone and will continue on a monthly basis, meeting at The Davitt Community Centre at 2pm on the last Sunday of every month.
