Councillor Margaret Adams is to return to Westport Town Council meetings in March, the town council was informed at its recent meeting.
As Cllr Adams had not attended a meeting since September 2 last year, due to illness, her return date in March would mean that she would have not attended in six months and therefore deemed to have resigned.
Therefore a resolution was passed at Westport Town Council last Thursday night to extend the period for which she could be absent.
