€80,000 needed to complete Claremorris car park

At a recent Claremorris electoral area committee meeting Independent councillor Richard Finn put forward a notice of motion that Mayo County Council provide funding in 2011 to have the car park at the playground in Claremorris tarmacadamed.

Senior engineer for Mayo County Council, Patsy Burke, responded to the notice of motion saying the work would cost in the region of €80,000 to complete on the car park. Cllr Finn said the car park needed surfacing.

His motion was supported by Fine Gael councillor Tom Connolly who highlighted the popularity of the playground.

“We would love to do it, if the funding is available,” Mr Burke told them.
