Boxercise classes taught by a former Irish senior boxing champion commence in Mayo this month with classes in Castlebar, Swinford, Kiltimagh, and Charlestown.
Adrian Sheerin, also a former English champion boxer who captained the Irish team, is now a qualified fitness instructor training both men and women to get fit.
Classes suit all fitness levels as participants can go at their own pace. It does not matter if you have never boxed before as the goal is totally fitness based.
Since qualifying as a fitness instructor four years ago Mr Sheerin has taught more than 500 of his unique boxercise classes to great success.
Classes take place on Mondays in Castlebar Combat Sports Centre (beside CT Electric ); shape and tone (women only ) at 6.15pm; boxercise at 7pm (mixed ); and boxing skills and drills (men only ) at 8pm. On Tuesday there will be new bootcamp classes in Castlebar at 6.30pm. Again on Tuesdays in the Charlestown Sports Complex a boxercise class will take place at 8.45pm. On Wednesday, a boxercise class will take place at 6.30pm in St Louis School, Kiltimagh, and on Thursdays in Swinford Community Centre, a shape and tone class will take place at 7.15pm and boxercise will take place at 8pm.Classes last one hour and cost €50 for six classes.
