Dara Calleary TD has welcomed the announcement of renewal of contracts for a number of services provided under the Community Services Programme in Mayo.
“The Minister for Social Protection Eamon O’Cúiv TD has approved the offer of three years funding (2011-2013 ) from the programme to employ people on a full-time basis in a further eight Mayo community based projects, said Minister of State Calleary.
“The Community Services Programme is designed to work in partnership with local service providers where gaps are identified in the services or there is insufficient demand for services that would normally be provided by the public and/or private sectors. This is the latest announcement of renewals and I expect more to follow next month.
At present, the programme supports 2,700 people in employment, delivers a wide range of essential services and generates significant additional funds to the support and development of service providers,” continued Minister Calleary.
The groups who will be in receipt: Ionad Ealaiona Iorrais Teo, Belmullet €108,322; Cairde Le Cheile Community Services, Geesala €127,165 plus €10,000 operational grant per annum; Carrowmore-Lacken Development Association €98,616 plus €9,000 operational grant per annum; Fr Peyton Centre Attymass €174,747; Turasoireacht Acla Teoranta €108,132; Mayo Celtic Holidays Ltd, Kiltimagh €70,066; Ballintubber Abbey Trust Ltd €108,322; Castlebar Care for the Aged Social Economy Ltd €203,297.
