free demonstration

Chen-style tai chi (Taijiquan ) is the oldest form of tai chi and the most popular form of tai chi in the world today. Tai chi chuan is accessible to all ages and physical abilities and can be practised on many levels, from a simple 'meditative' exercise to a realistic martial art. Aside from promoting the flow of qi energy, tai chi chuan can also help to increase flexibility, suppleness, and exercise the muscles. The smooth, gentle, movements also aid relaxation and help to keep the mind calm and focused. These benefits are extremely useful in today's stressful society and tai chi is recognised by the HSE as a means to promote good health. No specialist equipment or clothing is required.

A free tai chi class, talk and demonstration will be held on Wednesday January 26 from 8pm to 9pm at Castlebar Sports Complex - An Sportlann in McHale Road, Castlebar.
