Vote now to bring Doodle 4 Google title to Mayo

Two Mayo students have been named as finalists in the Doodle 4 Google art competition and are now among the 60 Irish students in with a chance of winning the national Doodle 4 Google title. Everyone in Mayo is now being urged to visit www.google.ie/doodle4google and vote for Shona Farragher and Seren O'Toole to bring the title to Mayo.

Shona (second class ) and Seren (second class ) both from St John the Baptist NS in Ballinrobe reached the top 60 with their creation of a doodle around the Google logo based on the theme of “To me, happiness is…”.

The public vote opened on January 17 2011 and will close on January 31. The top four doodles from the public vote, one from each age category, will then be presented to the official Google doodle team which will choose the overall winner. The winning doodle will feature on the Google Ireland homepage in March where it will be seen by millions of internet users and the winner’s school will receive a €10,000 technology grant.
