Woman stole clothes from Dunnes

An 18-year-old from Castlebar who stole items from Dunnes Stores to the value of €50 was before Castlebar District Court this week.

On December 31 2010 at 4.57pm gardaí were called to Dunnes Stores where a security member outlined that he observed Fiona McDonagh, 7 Thomas Street, Castlebar, along with her younger sister, remove children’s clothing, a handbag, a hoodie, and an umbrella from the store. The security guard followed the defendant to the car park where he asked her to return the items. She failed to do so.

CCTV was viewed by gardaí who identified McDonagh. The defendant admitted her involvement when contacted by gardaí and the property was recovered.

McDonagh, who has no previous convictions, was remanded on continuing bail by Judge Mary Devins to Castlebar District Court on May 4 for sentencing.
