There has been a 9.4 per cent decrease in house asking prices year-on-year, according to the latest house price report from daft.ie
The report which examines recent trends in the Irish residential sales market, showed that the average asking price for a house in Mayo is €184,403; a 30.6 per cent drop from peak times.
In the last quarter of 2010 the report showed that the average asking price in Mayo for a one bed home was €104,000, €123,000 for a two bed, €156,000 for a three bed, €225,000 for a four bed, and €259,00 for a five bed.
Nationwide, this is the fourth year in a row where house asking prices have fallen.
