In what promises to be one of the most eagerly anticipated shows of the year, Tommy Flemming and the National Concert Orchestra will be kicking off the New Year in style with a performance at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, on January 29 at 7pm.
Last October Tommy released his new album and DVD Going Back. This album features nostalgic classic songs from the past 50 years and includes powerful tracks like ‘The Boxer’ by Simon and Garfunkel, ‘My Life’ by Shirley Bassey, ‘Softly as I leave You’ by Matt Munroe and, a huge musical classic from Willie Russell’s Blood Brothers, ‘Tell me it’s not true’ - all sang in Tommy’s unique and powerful style backed by a full 60 piece concert orchestra and Tommy’s band, which has resulted in one of the biggest recordings of Tommy’s album releases throughout his career.
This tour will see Tommy on stage with more than 30 musicians, including his band under the direction of David Hayes (Tommy’s musical director for 18 years ), this will undoubtedly be a magical experience. The concert will feature tracks from Tommy’s new album plus all the old favourites like you have never experienced them before with the phenomenal Irish Concert Orchestra teaming up with Tommy and his band.
