Open week kicks off on St Stephen’s Day in Claremorris Golf Club

Claremorris Golf Club will hold its annual Christmas open week beginning on St Stephen's Day. This will run until Sunday January 1, weather permitting. Met Éireann has promised a thaw from Christmas Eve, which presumably should see the course open for the Open week. For further information contact Chris or Joey at 094 9371527.

If you are looking for an ideal Christmas present why not consider a membership of Claremorris Golf Club. Beginner’s membership is available from €225, with full membership from €595. Vouchers for golf lessons and green fees are also available. For further information contact Chris at 094 9371527 or email [email protected]

All outstanding prizes can be collected from the office during the week. Although a thaw is expected on Christmas Eve, no competitions are scheduled for Sunday next. A text message will be sent by the club as soon as the course opens, with a full schedule of competitions for the beginning of the New Year appearing in the local media as well as on the club website and on its Facebook page.

The council has agreed green fee rates for 2011. In an effort to capitalise on the club’s position as the premier parkland course in the region, there will be additional incentives offered to prospective societies who make enquiries for 2011. Complimentary tea and coffee on arrival, along with an official Westport Golf Club strokesaver for each member of the group, are just two of a number of special offers available. Full details on the club website. The club would be grateful if membership subscriptions could be paid and/or direct debit mandates confirmed to the office over the coming days. Credit card payments can be made over the phone. Finally, the council, lady captain, gents’ captain, and their respective committees would like to wish a Happy Christmas and a splendid golfing New Year to all the members.
