Westport will put its mark on the map as it will be a town where you can take part in organised street orienteering.
The idea of street orienteering is that a map will contain a number of marked locations, where participants must visit, note it on their score card, and the first person back is the winner.
Anyone from eight years upwards can take part in orienteering and it is hoped that the project will also increase tourism.
The town council will host a copy of the map in PDF format and a copy of the score card on its website. It will be promoted in association with the Chamber of Commerce.
Mapping will be undertaken by the outdoor education department in GMIT.
