Westport Electoral Area councillors have congratulated the community in Murrisk on its recent win in the Pride of Place Competition, with director of services Joe Beirne commending the work carried out by the development association in Murrisk.
Senior executive officer Martin Keating said the association “demonstrate great enthusiasm and organisation” and “are an example to every community of leadership and team work in managing two national sites, the special local environment, and the heritage aspect of the village.”
Chairperson of the committee, Breda Hyland, acknowledged the help they have received from the town council.
