Almost ninety jobs approved for Galway/Mayo Gaeltacht

A total of 55 projects involving a total of €2.9m in State funding were approved at an Údarás na Gaeltachta board meeting in Na Forbacha last week, which will lead to the creation of 193 new jobs when fully implemented.

Of the 193 jobs to be created 89 of these are tipped to happen in the Mayo and Galway Gaeltacht. According to the Údarás details regarding the projects will be announced in due course once the necessary arrangements have been made with the companies.

The board also announced that Seán Ó Labhraí has been appointed as acting chief executive to succeed Pádraig Ó hAoláin who will retire as chief executive at the end of the year.
