A man whose car, the tyre of which had cord and wire exposed, collided into a motorbike was before Castlebar District Court this week.
Michael Sheridan, Straide, Foxford, was involved in an accident with the bike on March 28 2010 at Kelly’s Cross, Straide.
A PSV inspection of the vehicle determined that the left rear tyre was below the tread depth and had cord and wire exposed.
Sheridan, who had no previous road traffic convictions, was convicted and fined €170 by Judge Mary Devins for having the bald tyre.
