Castlebar Farmers’ Market supports Seeds for Africa

Castlebar Farmers’ Market, which trades every Friday on Market Square, Castlebar, will be raising money to send seeds to farmers in Africa on Friday November 14.

Stallholders will be selling sandwiches made from produce available on their stalls. The sandwiches will cost €2, all of which will go towards buying seeds. There will also be hot sausages and hamburgers for sale as part of the fundraising drive. It is hoped that the public will support this initiative as well as getting a tasty sandwich during their lunch hour.

The Seeds for Africa sandwich campaign is being run throughout the country.

Castlebar Farmers’ Market provides fresh local produce which includes fresh fish from Foxford, Killala and Castlebar, homemade jams, baked goods, organic vegetables, organic meat, homemade fudge, pancakes and award-winning farmhouse cheese.
