Crash Ensemble bring some fresh, funky, fun to the Linenhall

Ireland’s finest contemporary music group, Crash Ensemble, performs a fresh, fun, and funky celebration of world folk music with a contemporary twist at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Monday December 6 at 8pm.

Crash Ensemble is a dazzling group of Irish contemporary musicians founded in 1997 by composer Donnacha Dennehy, conductor and pianist Andrew Synott, and clarinettist Michael Seaver. Since its first sold-out concert in Dublin in 1997, Crash has attracted enthusiastic audiences and critical acclaim for its particular blend of music, video and electronics. Crash’s latest project Stranger Folk comprises works composed with an influence of folk music, drawing from Irish, US, South American, and Dutch traditions.

George Hamilton for one night only in the Linenhall

Country music legend George Hamilton IV performs for one very special night at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Thursday December 9 at 8pm.

This year marks George Hamilton IV's 54th year in music, his 50th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and his 36th anniversary as international ambassador of country music. Over the years he has become one of the best-known names in country music around the world via constant international touring, recording, and radio and television appearances. During Hamilton’s award-winning career he has entertained on the renowned stages of Carnegie Hall, London's Palladium, Wembley Arena, and Royal Albert Hall, and has toured globally, performing on just about every continent. Go along and see the great man in the intimate setting of the Linenhall for a night of popular greats performed by a living legend.

Eimear Quinn live at the Linenhall

Acclaimed singer Eimear Quinn performs what promises to be an unforgettable Christmas concert at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Wednesday December 15 at 8pm.

Eimear Quinn's ethereal voice first enthralled the world at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996 with Brendan Graham's ‘The Voice’. Dublin born Eimear joined her first choir at the age of four and at 15 she started formal vocal training at the College of Music in Dublin. A former soloist with Celtic chamber choir Anúna, Eurovision success brought Eimear international fame and acclaim. On this intimate and spiritual night Eimear will bring her own special rendition of Christmas songs and carols to the Linenhall for a memorable musical experience with string quartet and guitar. So sit back and let the hustle and bustle fade away. The Christmas season begins right here, let your spirit be moved.
