An man who was threatening and abusive while drunk outside a Castlebar night-club was convicted and fined a total of €550 at Castlebar District Court this week.
The court heard that on July 25 at 2.50am Celyn Eadon, Derrycrieve, Islandeady, was observed by Garda Gerard Dillon to push and shove a number of people outside the Welcome Inn Hotel.
When Eadon saw Garda Dillon, he attempted to run away, and he crashed into a number of people in the process before falling to the ground.
Judge John Coughlan convicted and fined him €500 for being threatening and abusive and €50 for being intoxicated in a public place.
