Students in schools throughout Mayo are being reminded to pick up their paintbrushes and start doodling to be in with the chance to win Google’s national art and design competition.
Thirty-five Mayo primary and secondary schools have already registered for this year’s Doodle 4 Google art competition, but there is still time for your school to enter as the deadline for entries is December 10.
Students entering the competition are required to create a doodle on and around the Google logo based on the theme of “To me, happiness is…”. The winning doodle will be viewed by millions of Internet users when it is placed on the Google Ireland homepage in March 2011. The four national finalists will receive a laptop for themselves and one for their teachers. The national winner’s doodle will appear on the Google homepage for 24 hours and the winner’s school will receive a €10,000 technology grant.
Interested schools can enter the competition by visiting the Doodle 4 Google website www.google.ie/doodle4google/
