Thinking of a career in the creative field?

Are you thinking of pursuing a career as a film maker, musician, animator, writer, or architect? If so Mayo County Council Arts Office in partnership with the TF Royal is organising a not to be missed Creative Careers Day. The Creative Careers Day is one of the many events that make up Excel, Mayo County Council’s youth arts programme.

This exciting event is an opportunity for young adults who are thinking of pursuing a career in the creative industries to have one on one time with professionals working in this area. The Creative Careers Day will be held in the TF Royal in Castlebar on Thursday November 18 from 2pm to 6pm. Go on a drop in basis, go with your school, or go after school. This event is free and a fantastic chance for teenagers to plan their future careers and get advice and talk with those working professionally in the creative industries.

The Creative Careers Day will be packed with professionals from all areas of the creative industries, including film director Liam Mc Grath, who created the popular TV comedy show Naked Camera; writer Morag Prunty, who some readers may know better as Kate Kerrigan; musician from Afro Celt fame, James Mc Nally; TV producer Gillian Marsh; poet Billy Ramsel; visual artist and animator Aideen Barry; fashion designer Katriona Flynn; architect Tom de Paor; sound technician Ronan Courell; festival director, playwright, and actress Roisín de Staic; and filmmakers Souljacker.
