A 20-year-old man from Achill has tragically died in an accident while visiting Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK with friends.
Daniel Sweeney from Knocknamona, Curraune, Achill, died in the early hours of Tuesday morning. A post-mortem was conducted, which showed that injuries sustained were consistent with a fall.
Mr Sweeney’s remains will arrive at Ireland West Airport Knock this morning (Friday ), with removal to Currane Church, Achill at 3pm. Mass will take place on Sunday at noon, with burial in Glencoe Cemetery.
