Clocks go back by one hour this weekend - giving everyone a welcome extra hour in bed on Sunday night. The time change will also mean early mornings will be that little bit brighter for a while - but also that dark evenings will arrive much sooner from now until the end of winter.
Make the most of the time change by putting your clocks forward well in advance to avoid being caught out. The change will officially mark the end of Daylight saving time which is scheduled to end in most of Europe on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 1am.
This annual time-change routine has stirred up some debate in recent years and countries such as the UK and Russia, notably, are seeking changes to the tradition.
