A Polish man, who was over the limit when he collided with two cars, was convicted of drink driving at Ballina District Court this week.
On December 11, gardaí received a report of a traffic accident on the Killala Road where a green Mercedes had collided with two cars and had then left the scene.
Jarostaw Leszczynski, 6 Churchfield Manor, Killala, was the driver at the time and he was located by gardaí. The defendant provided a breath sample which gave a reading of 62mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
The divorced father of two, who has been in Ireland since 2004, was convicted and fined €500 by Judge Mary Devins and disqualified from driving for two years.
