Drunk man crashed car into wall

A man who, when drunk, crashed his car into a wall, was disqualified from driving for three years this week at Ballina District Court.

On September 13 at 1.30am, gardaí were informed of a single road traffic accident which occurred on George Street, Killala.

A car, which was driven by Aaron Kearney, Coolanghan, Carrowmore Lacken, Ballina, had hit a wall, after he drove his car to see if the chipper was open.

The defendant was arrested for drink driving and provided a sample of breath that showed a concentration of 67mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.

Kearney, who has no previous convictions, was told by Judge Mary Devins that he needs “to learn a bit of sense” and the judge convicted and fined him €500 and disqualified him from driving for three years.
