A plan for winter maintenance has been developed by Mayo County Council in order to ensure that areas in the county are prepared to deal with the possibility of severe winter weather, according to director of services for the Westport area, Joe Beirne.
Mr Beirne said that the plan, which was executed last year, will be the “same in essence”, however it has been “tweaked”, allowing traffic to flow between the main arteries of the towns and through town streets.
