BreastCheck – The National Breast Screening Programme — is currently providing free breast screening to women living in Mayo. Screening of women living in Castlebar is almost complete. In the coming weeks, women living in Castlebar who could not attend their first appointment will receive a second appointment by post.
The BreastCheck mobile digital screening unit is located in the grounds of Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar. BreastCheck urges every woman who receives an appointment to attend for her free mammogram. Any woman who receives an appointment for a time or date that does not suit can easily rearrange it by calling the BreastCheck Western Unit on 091 580600.
BreastCheck advises all women aged 50 to 64 to make sure their name is on the BreastCheck register by calling Freephone 1800 454555 or checking online at www.breastcheck.ie
