Mental health education course

The HSE’s Mayo mental health recovery team is organising a family education course entitled Recover and the Family. The aim of the course is to give relatives, friends, and family members of people with mental health difficulties an opportunity to take time out to reflect and meet others in the same situation as themselves.

The course is being run in partnership with Shine, a national voluntary organisation supporting people affected by mental ill health. The course is free and will start on October 12, and will run over seven weeks in the Recovery headquarters attached to An Coillin Unit, St Mary’s Hospital, Castlebar. It is open to anyone who has a family member or significant other who has a mental health difficulty.

For further details and to book a place, telephone Veronica Burke, senior social worker, recovery team, at 094 904 2131 or 086 853 3801; email [email protected]
